Weight Loss Foods

Before we begin, I would like to say that these are some of the things that I focus on, I am not a doctor or professional of any kind related to health.

In general, when people hear the word diet they think about having to eat salads all day, with no dressing, and if they are lucky they will get some grilled chicken to top things off. However, I am here to tell you that dieting is much less painful and actually a lot more fun than eating salads all of the time.In fact you can even diet by eating literally the same foods that you normally eat, if you eat half of the portions that you usually have. Today however I want to talk about how people can pick and choose the foods that they eat to both maximize their weight loss results, as well as be able to eat nice meals when they are hungry. This is the power of choosing solid weight loss foods. It should also be noted, that while you can make progress towards weight loss with just changing your diet, it is recommended and it will exponentially increase your results if you decide to go to the gym and do some sort of cardio at least three days per week.

As far as foods are concerned, the reason that most people become overweight lies in the fact that they are eating to many starchy foods as apart of their daily diet. This includes bread, potatoes, and pasta. These foods contain a high about of complex carbohydrates, which means that they are made up of three or more linked sugars, and therefore take longer to digest than simple carbs, which are made up of only one or two sugars. Essentially if you are sitting around eating white bread, potatoes, and white pasta all day, you can rest assured that weight loss or even weight maintenance will not be in the cards for you. Another reason why people tend to gain weight is through the consumption of sport drinks and soda (even diet). All of these drinks contain some form of fructose (sugar) corn syrup and I do not think I need to explain why to much sugar is not good for you. Lastly people are able to pack on those extra pounds by not getting enough fiber in their diet. Fiber, also known as the regulator is what helps to keep our bodies getting rid of excess waste in a timely fashion.

So how do we fix these problems? Well its pretty simple really; first no matter what it is, if its white say goodnight. Meaning no more white bread, white pasta, white potatoes, their is simply to many slow digest carbohydrates, which pack on the pounds. Instead, buy yourself 100% whole wheat bread, and pasta, and if you still want potatoes try eating sweet potatoes (never fried) If you make that one simple change you can guarantee yourself some degree of weight loss. Secondly all soda and sport drinks should be cut out of your daily routine. Even things like Gatorade G2 contain semi-large amounts of sugar and carbs, all of which are unnecessary. Instead, drink more water! I know its not the funnest drink to have, but it keeps you hydrated, and keeps you flushing out excess materials all day long. If you want to sweeten it just a little, look for the packs of crystals that are sugar and carb free. Other drinks you make look into include green tea, and skim milk. Lastly comes fiber, which is the easiest fix of all simply because you generally need to cut nothing out, rather simply eat more of it! You want to eat things like broccoli, raisin bran, prunes, etc. All of which have a high fiber content, you will notice an increase in bowel movements upon implementing this step, but that means its working!
